Remove four screws securing the mirror client second life chat top cover.
It means you can install up to 4GB memory module into each memory slot.
Slide the connector lock to the direction shown by two green arrows with your fingernails.
Disconnect and remove the cmos battery.Its not necessary go though all previous steps (except removing cmos battery cover) in order to remove the keyboard.Remove three screws securing the keyboard.Before you remove the wireless card, youll have to disconnect both antenna cables pointed with green arrows.Remove seven screws securing the bezel.All these components, except the keyboard, can be accessed through on the bottom of the computer.Be very carefull, the bezel is attached to the motherboard with a flat ribbon cable.On the following picture you can see all covers removed.Disconnect the video cable.We disconnected both antenna cables from the wireless card in the step.Remove the hard drive, memory and cmos battery covers from the bottom.Disconnect the speaker cable.Finally, remove the keyboard.Simply unplug the damaged the jack harness and replace it with a new one.If you have finger scanner installed, disconnect it too (green arrow).If you would like to replace the LCD screen, you can follow this screen removal guide for HP Pavilion dv4.I believe HP Pavilion dv4 can handle up to 8GB RAM maximum.
